D-DAY
--------------------------------------------
It always rains in Normandy on June 6. Sometimes for no more than an hour. Flags in the windows blow in the wind. Leaves whirl along the streets. Herds of grazing cows, gently caressed by the breeze, stare in awe at the hundreds of strange vehicles crossing the streets. Streets that are almost deserted there. Green is everywhere in Normandy on June 6. Olive green. A magic atmosphere that gathers thousands of people. No matter where you come from. In that moment, on that day, the important thing is to be there…. In that place, on those beaches. The very same beaches where some veterans, now in their nineties, landed 75 years ago. We are blessed and honored to have the privilege to meet them, their eyes full of emotions. 5000 ships, more than 40,000 soldiers killed on those shores. Maybe this is the reason why in Normandy, every year, on June 6 it rains. Sometimes for no more than an hour. To keep memory alive.
